Ecological
Stewardship| Restoration at Chatfield Farms
Rebecca
Hufft, Ph.D., Denver Botanic Gardens
The mission of Denver Botanic Gardens Chatfield
Farms is to inspire the public to be good stewards of the environment by
connecting people to our past, present and future relationships with native
plants of the Rocky Mountain Region. We are starting a new initiative to
restore habitats and expand community awareness of the diversity of wildlife
that depends on areas like Chatfield.
Dr. Rebecca Hufft has been the Manager
of Conservation Programs at Denver Botanic Gardens since 2011. She received a
BA in Biology from the University of Chicago and a PhD in Ecology and
Evolutionary Biology from the University of California Santa Cruz. She is a
conservation biologist whose research includes invasive species, restoration,
rare plants, long-term monitoring, phenology, and biodiversity.
