Noxious Weeds: Deceivingly attractive invasive-plants
Cecily Mui – Noxious
Weed Specialist, Colorado Department of Agriculture
Noxious weeds cost the United States millions in economic
impacts annually. They affect the cost of
food production, the delivery of water, and recreational access. They also crowd out native plants and degrade
wildlife habitat. Many of these invasive
plants arrived in the United States accidentally, but many others were planted
into backyard gardens for their beauty and cultural values. When does a flower that brings cheer become a
weed that threatens? Join us to learn about
Colorado invasive plants that may be lurking in our backyards and how you can
help control noxious weeds.
